This 1930s townhouse sits directly behind the Whitney Museum of American Art. Its renovation includes the design of living quarters on the second floor and entertaining space on the first floor. LTL designed an open-concept plan and maximized space by designing a spiral stairwell. Working with steel fabricators at Veyko in Philadelphia, LTL custom-designed a steel and frosted glass shell to both encase the stairs and offer a sculptural source of light.
